Onoma Newsletter – April 2019

Dear clients and coworkers!

Sometimes you may feel that Portuguese literature has become just a little bit quieter. But the strong presence of Portuguese authors at the Leipzig Book Fair, one of the most important of its kind in the world, paints a somewhat different picture. From March 21 to March 24, 2019, ten authors presented their works, among them famous writers like José Eduardo Agualusa, but above all emerging, not-yet-so-well-known authors like Afonso Cruz, Joana Bértholo or Ana Margarida de Carvalho. And the time to introduce these new authors seems to have been the right one, because in 2021 Portugal will be the guest country of the Leipzig Book Fair. Soon there will be a lot of work in the field of literary translation.

Yours,

Ester Ramos
