Dear Friends and Co-Workers!

What is a good translator made of? Of their linguistic skills, no doubt. Of their knowledge on the most recent tech in their area of expertise, for sure. And, even so, people with the same skills will always produce different results. Why? Andrew Morris tried to give us the answer to this question in his book The Book of Standing Out: Travels through the Inner World of Freelance Translation. Andrew, who is also a translator, explains in six worth reading chapters that our success when it comes to work depends especially on our attitude, on the environment that we are able to create and the way we react to challenges that we come across. This approach makes this book interesting for any reader, even if they aren’t a translator.
Good late summer reading!

Yours
Ester Ramos
